Are you new to the world of trapshooting or want to deepen your knowledge? Here are two (2) great opportunities for you. Feel free to reach out to me with your questions.
Coach Matt

IMPORTANT (FROM THE SCHOLASTIC CLAY TARGET PROGRAM HANDBOOK):
PLEASE NOTE: For all SCTP events (practices, matches, etc.), Team Members must be under the supervision of the Team’s Head Coach. In the event the Head Coach cannot be present, he/she must designate an Assistant Coach/Adult Volunteer who is registered with the National Organization and covered by SSSF Insurance. Violation of this rule voids the Volunteer Liability Insurance Policy coverage, disqualifies the Team from entering an event and may result in the removal of the Head Coach from the SCTP.

SSSF Basic Shotgun Shooting Sports Training
The Basic Shotgun Coach Certification Program is designed for prospective coaches wishing to join a youth clay target or action shooting sports team as a coach or an adult volunteer. The intuitive, primarily online-based curriculum certifies coaches to work with beginning and novice athletes involved in the shotgun sports of American Trap, American Skeet, and Sporting Clays.

NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course
Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving target. This course is at least ten-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning how to shoot shotguns at moving targets. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; shotgun shell components; shotgun shell malfunctions; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting at straight away and angled targets; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Shotgun Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.
